The Research Association of Hydrogen Supply /Utilization Technology - HySUT is an association founded in July 2009 aiming to establish hydrogen supply infrastructure and to improve hydrogen business environment. At first, 13 private energy-related companies with desire to realize low carbon society by hydrogen supply became members of HySUT and today, total of 19 companies/associations (including auto industry) have been carrying on the phase 1 (FY2009-2010) and the phase 2 (FY2011-2015) studies under the name of HySUT.
From FY2009 to FY2010, HySUT demonstrated two projects, gHydrogen Highway projecth in Tokyo area, and gHydrogen Town projecth at Kita-Kyushu city which was a part of gHydrogen utilization society system establishment demonstrationh project sponsored by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry - METI.
From FY2011 to FY 2013, we carried out four new projects. gLocal Hydrogen supply infrastructure technical & social demonstrationh - sub item gTechnical & Social demonstration studyh, gDevelopment of technologies for hydrogen production, transportation and storage systemsh - sub item gOptimization of Regulations for FCV and Hydrogen Infrastructureh, andgR&D of technologies for hydrogen utilizationhboth sponsored by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization - NEDO and gDemonstration study utilizing Kita-Kyushu Hydrogen Townh , sponsored by Fukuoka Strategy Conference for Hydrogen Energy.
HySUT continues R&D for 5subjects of NEDO's R&D of technology for hydrogen utilization contributing to the cost reduction of devices and systems of hydrogen infrastructure, the spread of FCV and strengthening Japan's international competitiveness toward the market establishment of FCV and hydrogen infrastructure after 2020.
